LIP BLUSH EXPLAINED

PMU lip blush, also called lip tint and lip tattoo, is a revolutionary semi-permanent (up to 2 years) makeup technique that offers many advantages. Using a specialized machine that resembles a tattoo gun, this procedure delivers long-lasting color to the lips, without the need for constant touch-ups. It's important to note that while the machines may look similar, the application and pigments used for PMU lips are specifically designed for this purpose, resulting in a more natural look. To ensure your comfort during the procedure, the lips are first numbed with a topical numbing cream. The entire appointment typically takes about 3 hours, during which your Cali Girl PMU artist will work meticulously to achieve your desired look. After the procedure, your lips may swell for up to 24 hours, but this is completely normal and will subside on its own.

Immediately after treatment, you will notice a high saturation of color on your lips. This is because the pigments are designed to settle into the skin within the first few days. Don't worry! As the initial flakes start to fall off, you will notice a 40-60% decrease in saturation, resulting in a more sheer and natural-looking tint. To achieve a more opaque healed results, additional sessions are usually required.

Keeping your lips moisturized and protected from the sun is crucial for optimal healing. It's recommended to use a non-petroleum based healing balm or ointment to keep your lips nourished and protected. It's also important to resist the urge to touch or pick at your lips as they heal, as this can disrupt the pigment and lead to uneven results. Do not rub, kiss, smack, lick, or pick at your lips as they are healing.
